Vestibule Capitals
The carved column capitals are adorned with Nebraska iconography including cattle, corn, and wheat.
Warner Chamber State Seal
1 of 3 of the original seals created by Bertram Goodhue for the State of Nebraska. Although they are displayed throughout the building it was never formally adopted by the state.
The Guide
The Guide is a carved sculpture at the front of the Warner Chamber. It depicts a Native American with his right hand aloft. Between him and his counterpart, The Counselor, is written Nebraska’s State Motto: Equality Before the Law.

The Counselor is a carved sculpture at the front of the Warner Chamber. It depicts a Native American with a headdress, holding a pipe in his left arm with his right hand open in front of him. Between him and his counterpart, The Guide, is written Nebraska’s State Motto: Equality Before the Law.
Sower
400 feet above the ground, stands the iconic Sower on top of the dome of the Capitol. The Sower casts the seeds of life and is meant to represent the farmers and families of Nebraska as well as highlight the importance of agriculture in the state. Thunderbird
Native American Thunderbirds are represented on each of the sides of the gold-tiled dome. Thunderbirds represent rain, integral to all life. The exterior of the Nebraska Capitol symbolizes the history of Western civilization and embodies the “Spirit of the Law as shown in history.” It is richly decorated with significant historical events and notable figures.
